We are excited to announce that CARE-2 will have a booth at NatCon, National Council’s Annual Conference on April 11-13 at the Gaylord Hotel in Washington DC. If you are there, stop by our booth 225. We will be handing out violence prevention articles and running CARE-2 specials.
The CARE-2 by Dr. Kathryn Seifert
The CARE-2 recognizes that youth violence is related to childhood trauma in homes, neighborhoods, and public agencies. Childhood trauma interferes with the development of necessary life skills, dysregulates emotions, and exacerbates the sympathetic nervous system’s reaction stressors. To reduce youth violence we must first use trauma-informed care and build youth resiliency in the brain, relationships, and behaviors and support youth and family wellbeing. Check out the CARE-2 Threat Assessment Clinical Toolbox with risk factors, resiliency factors, and treatment recommendations for risk reduction.
