The CARE-2 by Dr. Kathryn Seifert
The CARE-2 recognizes that youth violence is related to childhood trauma in homes, neighborhoods, and public agencies. Childhood trauma interferes with the development of necessary life skills, dysregulates emotions, and exacerbates the sympathetic nervous system’s reaction stressors. To reduce youth violence we must first use trauma-informed care and build youth resiliency in the brain, relationships, and behaviors and support youth and family wellbeing. Check out the CARE-2 Threat Assessment Clinical Toolbox with risk factors, resiliency factors, and treatment recommendations for risk reduction.
